The Role of Health Coaching in Today’s Wellness Journey
I recently delivered a wellness workshop targeting women aged 40–55, where we discussed the importance of
health coaching as a powerful practice to guide individuals through their wellness journey.
Since completing my studies as a health coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition,
I’ve had the privilege of connecting with many individuals seeking guidance—particularly after the pandemic,
which shifted how people view wellness. More people are now open to holistic approaches and actively searching
for support in nutrition, lifestyle, and mental health.
Why Health Coaching Matters
Recent studies highlight that people are becoming increasingly conscious about:
- Adopting healthier lifestyles
- Seeking resources for mental health support
- Embracing mindfulness and stress management practices
Despite this growing awareness, health coaching is not yet included in insurance packages in our region.
Unlike the United States, where most large insurance companies have begun to cover health coaching, here it remains
an additional cost that often prevents people from making it a priority.
This is where organizations can step in. By prioritizing employee well-being, companies not only support physical,
emotional, and mental health but also foster an environment that drives performance, loyalty, and engagement.
